DISTRICT 1 (Lima) None Available at this time. DISTRICT 2 (Bowling Green) CONSTRUCTION (2 Positions): Inspect two-lane resurfacing, striping, & ditch layovers to ensure contractor compliance; estimate costs & examine plans; verify calculations; conduct tests for compliance of materials; record project info in construction diaries/reports; coordinate field data & research existing records; maintain info in construction diaries. Meet with & provide info to property owners, contractors, & the public. Update & maintain project files; other responsibilities. PLANNING: Assist in planning improvement/reconstruction projects to upgrade roads, structures, landscapes; review/design plans for proposed projects/improvements and train in standard plans/projects; operate CADD to upgrade roads, structures, landscapes; complete engineering studies; make plan revisions; perform calculations; write proposals and technical reports; design/perform calculations for bridge rehab plans; and other responsibilities. CENTRAL OFFICE (Columbus) TRAFFIC ENGINEERING: Assist staff specialists in Traffic Control (Highway Lighting, Traffic Signals, Signing, Markings and Standards), Safety and Work Zones and Freeway Operations sections of the Office of Traffic Engineering. Review plans; conduct field reviews; assist in ODOT’s QAR and OPI review process; write specifications, policies, etc.; revise standard construction drawings, plan insert sheets, and manuals using CADD; Write reports detailing project findings and recommendations. Regularly interface with the district offices requiring strong computer background (Excel, Access, databases, etc.) and strong communications skills. |
