OHIO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION

EIT's are compensated at OCSEA Pay Range 31, Step one.  The current OCSEA Pay Range Schedule, effective July 2008 through July 2009 is accessible by clicking ACCESS PAY RANGE SCHEDULE below.  EIT's begin at a pay rate of $19.88 per hour ($41,350).  Following the completion of their 12-month probationary period, including passing the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam, EIT's are advanced to Pay Range 31, Step 2, equal to $20.81 per hour ($43,285).  Upon completion of the EIT Program, which includes completing the 12-month probationary period and completing the EIT Training rotation, EIT's are reclassified as Transportation Engineer 1, compensated at Pay Range 32, Step 1, equal to $21.77 per hour ($45,282).  Eight pay range step advances remain in Pay Range 32, offering entry-level engineers an opportunity to earn scheduled increases annually.
